I am writing a C# application that needs to interact with Groupwise. It
needs to extract all the address book information and also send emails with
attachments.

The problem is I can't seem to get GroupWise up and running on my machine to
test the code samples I have. When I try to install GroupWise it says I
need the Netware client installed.

What exactly do I need to install Groupwise and in what order? I just need
a local copy to run on my machine so that I can test my applications
interaction with it.

anyway help?

If you are talking about the GW Client only, then it doesn't need the Novell Netware Client,
asuming you are talking about Windows OS.

If you are talking about the backend, then yes....you'll need the Novell Client, since the
backend is administrated using the eDir, so you need access to it.

Hi Tommy. I have got the Novell 7. When I put it in the drive and click
Install Products and new menu is opened with has this list:

Install groupwise admin
install groupwise agents
install groupwise client
install groupwise webaccess
install groupwise internet agent
install groupwise monitor
install consoleone

I click on install groupwise client and it says it needs to run off a system

I Suppose Novell 7 means GroupWise 7.

Please go to the Client\Win32 directory, and run setup.exe

There is not setup file in that directory in the win32 directory.

Client>Win32>OfViews>Win there is not setup.exe in ANY of those directories.
There is only a setup.cfg file.

There are just .vew files so I don't know where you mean

Then I suggest downloading the Client ISO file, since you only got the backend part :-)

I downloaded and installed it. Now it needs something called a Post Office
Agent. Wow...what a mission to install an application.

Can you tell me what a Post Office Agent is?

Please note that I just need a local copy of Groupwise so that I can test
the sample code on it and extract addresses etc, I don't need to have a
server running or anything!
